Award in IV/Cannulation Skills (EduQual Level 3) 1 Credit–
IV technicians may insert and monitor IV equipment and medication, but they usually also work within a broader capacity, for example as licensed practice nurses (LPNs), licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) registered nurses (RNs), medical assistants, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) or as Phlebotomists.
Certificate in Patient Care Assistance (EduQual Level 4) 30 Credits
A Patient Care Assistant perform a number of tasks, such as taking vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, observing patients and charting changes in their health or behavior, escorting patients and obtaining lab specimens. They may work in hospitals, Nursing homes, clinics or other health care setting.
Diploma in Nursing Assistant Skills (EduQual Level 4) 51 Credits
A Certified Nursing Assistant’s (CNA) main role is to provide basic care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own, such as bathing. Because of the personal nature of the job, a certified nursing assistant job description must include people skills and the ability to be compassionate and enjoy helping others. In nursing or long-term care facilities, a CNA is often a patient’s main caregiver. CNAs report to either registered nurses.(Please Note this is Not a ENA Course).
Award in Introductory Duties for Anaesthesia Technicians (EduQual Level 3) 10 Credits
This course introduces students to anesthesia technician duties and can be used as a pre requisite to gain employment as an operating theatre staff. An anaesthesia technician is an allied health professional who works with the anaesthesiologist and other operating room team members to make sure that patients are sedated and properly anesthetized before surgery. Anaesthesia technicians handle many of the practical (technical) details of anesthetizing patients, allowing the anaesthesiologist to focus more fully on the patient’s needs.
Certificate in EKG Technician Skills (EduQual Level 3) 15 Credits
The primary duty of an Electrocardiogram Technician skills is to perform electrocardiogram on patients, other important tasks include: obtaining patient history, taking vital signs measurements, scheduling appointments, and recording physicians interpretations.
Certificate in Principles for Pharmacy Technicians (EduQual Level 3) 30 Credits
A Pharmacy Technician is a health care provider who performs pharmacy-related functions, generally working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Job duties include dispensing prescription drugs and other medical devices to patients and instructing on their use.
Certificate in Emergency Medical Response (EduQual Level 3) 15 Credits
The primary duty of an Emergency Medical Responder is to perform immediate lifesaving care for critical patients who access the emergency medical services system. After this course, EMRs will have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS resources to arrive.
Certificate in Basic Ultrasound Technician Skills (EduQual Level 3) 15 Credits
This course will introduce the fundamentals of ultrasonography, starting with the basic physics of the interaction between sound waves and human tissue. Different types of transducers, including their frequencies.
