Ask a new question. I have a fresh install of windows 7 pro running and i have not been able to get the guide to download in Windows Media Center. I am up to date with all updates and have SP1 version running. My video card drivers are up to date as well. Prior to this computer i was running the same cablecard with a ceton infinitv and had no guide issues at all.
Its just that i cannot download any guide data. Its all completely blank. I get the channels and can view them but there is NO data. Every time i run the TV setup the same issue comes up; cannot download intitial setup data because of previous download error. As far as i am aware there were NO error messages when Windows installed I have tried manually downloading the guide which did not help. When i turned ‘on’ and ‘off’ WMC in control panel to reinstall it I even tried exploring the ehome folder and deleting the db file I cannot find a file mcupdate.
When i looked in event viewer these are some of the error messages i’m seeing. Be sure to open your notepad as the administrator and it should work. Was this reply helpful?
