The yard has a basketball hoop mounted on the wall, and when near it your attempts to throw an item are translated into a jump-shot. Plus a life beyond the jail populated by real civilians, with wardens enforcing dozens of different laws to stop you from making a break for it. Each day, you will find your health and mental state slipping away.

Both can be restored by sleeping – which is also a good way to pass time. You won’t always be permitted to sleep, though, so consuming food and drink bridges the gap.

These, along with many other activities such as reading or watching TV, can also help to improve your mental state. If you “lose your mind” you will break down and will temporarily lose control of your character almost certainly getting into trouble! You can improve it by fighting or lifting weights. You can improve it by jogging in the yard or scoring baskets. You can improve it by reading books.

It can be improved by accomplishing tasks or intimidating others. There are also opportunities to earn money – whether you work for it with a broom, trade items at a profit, or run with a gang. Having money increases your opportunities to grease the wheels and make your life inside easier. You may find that you need to go to the toilet from time to time, in which case you must race to the bathroom!

Alternatively, you could find a toilet to sit on or grab some toilet paper to spare your blushes. Failing to do so will damage your reputation and mental state. I regret that there is more to this game than I could ever explain here, so I hope you enjoy figuring some things out for yourself. It’s been a few years since I last played this game when I was a child, and I decided to try it out again to try to get some nostalgia, and I was really disappointed in what the game brought.

On top of that, you also can no longer pick your character design, its move set, or it’s attributes. It’s all random, and the only way to get around this and the ads are by paying 3 USD for it. To top it all off, if you pay those 3 dollars, you still get a buggy product. Randomly I loose control of my character beyond just when my character goes insane and I randomly get control back at random. I don’t know how well the PC version still holds up, but the Hard Time on mobile is garbage and there are better prison simulators on the market.

Very minimalistic concept done to the T. The Wrestling Engine used on this game makes NPC’s easily agitated and aggresive, causing the experience to take an interesting turn when you accidently kill someone and go insane and lose control of your character.

Overall, a pleasant experience. I used to play this game a lot as a kid, and was glad to see it again on here. This game isn’t hardcore per sae, it’s more just screwing around in prison, but there’s actually a lot you can do besides eating and sleeping. I would say there’s some things that could be improved like fighting, bot patterns, recovery speed etc , but I don’t think this game really needs that.

Although it is annoying to get wiped out by another prisoner falling off and exploding a toilet. Great game to screw with.
